Lasting Blueprint Productions completed two case-related video assignments for DeCiccio & Johnson in Orlando. Both involved the same civil legal matter and took place at the individual’s home: an independent medical examination (IME) recording followed by a separate Day-in-the-Life recording.
IME Recording
The examination was recorded inside the home. The examiner directed the individual through arm and leg movements, along with positioning and breathing instructions.
Two cameras were used. One provided tighter coverage while the second showed more of the surrounding room. Space was limited, particularly in the bedroom, and camera placement also had to account for attorneys, a nurse, and the examiner.
The footage was edited into an 11-minute final video. Post-production included video and audio synchronization, color grading, sound mixing, and DVD authoring. Two DVDs were delivered.
Day-in-the-Life Recording
The separate Day-in-the-Life assignment documented about three hours of activity inside and around the home. The filming was observational rather than directed. Footage included care in bed, assistance with dressing, wheelchair use, continued caregiving, movement through the residence, and exterior footage.
An edited video was originally planned, but changes in the legal matter later made that edit unnecessary.
Two Different Recording Approaches
Both assignments were completed by one videographer. The IME required working inside a confined space with several people present, while the Day-in-the-Life assignment required moving through the residence as normal activity continued.
