Lasting Blueprint Productions completed two legal video assignments connected to the same civil legal matter.
The work involved an injured individual connected to a civil legal matter. Both assignments took place at the individual’s home.
The first documented a medical examination on March 12. A separate day-in-the-life assignment followed on April 9.
Medical Examination Recording
The March 12 assignment documented a medical examination inside the home.
The examiner directed the individual through physical movements involving the arms and legs. The examination also included positioning and breathing instructions.
Two cameras provided complementary views of the examination. One captured tighter coverage while the second showed more of the surrounding room.
Working space was limited, particularly in the bedroom. Camera placement had to account for the individual, attorneys, a nurse, and the examiner.
The footage was edited into an 11-minute final video.
Post-production included synchronized video and audio, color grading, sound mixing, and authored delivery. Two DVDs were produced.
Day-in-the-Life Legal Video
The April 9 day-in-the-life legal video assignment documented three hours of activity inside and around the home.
The filming followed routine care rather than directing activity for the cameras.
Footage included care while the individual was in bed and assistance with dressing. It also documented movement into a wheelchair and continued caregiving while seated.
Coverage extended through several areas of the home. Exterior establishing footage also documented the surrounding living environment.
The transcript reflects the observational approach used during filming. People were encouraged to continue normal activity while the cameras documented the day.
Although an edited video was originally planned, changes in the legal matter meant it was no longer required.
Filming Inside the Home
Both assignments were filmed by one videographer using two cameras.
The two assignments required different approaches despite taking place at the same residence.
The medical examination occurred within a contained space with several people present. Limited room affected camera placement and movement.
The day-in-the-life assignment required following activity through different parts of the home.
That approach allowed the footage to document both caregiving and the environment where those activities occurred.
Using two cameras provided different perspectives while the videographer followed daily activity as it happened.
