Lasting Blueprint Productions filmed Richter Publishing’s #BookFest18 on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Station Square Creative Suites, 628 Cleveland St., in Clearwater, Florida.
What Happened at BookFest18
TV news anchor and author Sorboni Banerjee hosted Richter Publishing’s fifth annual event. In her opening remarks, she framed the evening around readers, storytellers, and authors who had completed the publishing process.
The event included music, drinks, food, prize raffles, an author awards ceremony, and opportunities for guests to meet authors and purchase their books.
The awards program recognized books in several categories. Corey Hall received Most Inspirational Story for I Found Me, Brittney Kempink received Best Children’s Book for Three Friends Limeade, and George Trowbridge received Best Overall Book for Striking Eight Bells: A Vietnam Memoir.
The program also included Richter Publishing’s annual writing contest. Ruth Brunson was announced as the 2018 winner.

The interviews captured authors discussing their books and their experience at BookFest18. Brittney Kempink talked about selling copies of Three Friends Limeade and seeing readers respond to its illustrations. Alder Allensworth reflected on returning after winning Richter Publishing’s 2017 writing contest and publishing Prevail: Celebrate the Journey. Another author discussed making a first in-person book sale after previously selling copies online.
