Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka asked us to help with a retirement tribute video for their senior pastor. After decades of service the church wanted to gather personal messages from members and students.
Located just outside Orlando in NW Orange County, Trinity Baptist Church has been an active part of the community for many years. This project reflects how churches in Central Florida use video to mark important milestones.
Filming at Trinity Baptist Church and Trinity Christian School
We filmed over 2 days at Trinity Christian School which shares the same address and campus as Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka.
Most of the interviews were done in front of a Trinity branded backdrop set up in one of the school’s rooms. We also filmed with students and employees in two different classrooms while Sunday school was in session.
We had students, church members and staff. Some were nervous about being on camera so we made them feel comfortable. Before we recorded we told each person they could start whenever they were ready. If anyone wanted to pause or redo part of their message we encouraged them to do so. After each take we checked in to make sure they were happy with what they shared.
We encouraged retakes and gave everyone time to say what they wanted.
Editing a Retirement Tribute Video for Trinity Baptist Church
After filming wrapped, we moved into editing.
The church’s marketing team selected CeCe Winans’ “Goodness of God” as the background track. We arranged the testimonials to create a natural flow, starting with students and ending with staff and adult members.
For people unable to attend the filming days, we included their pre-recorded video messages.
The completed video played during a Sunday worship service, giving the congregation a chance to reflect on the pastor’s years of leadership and service.
