Our Orlando video production company provided training videography services for the International Firestop Council’s IFC Firestop 204 seminar. We recorded a session at the Disney World Swan and Dolphin during AWCI’s Convention + Expo BUILD24 and the remainder of the firestop training videos at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. In this post, we’ll recap the seminar highlights, the IFC’s role, and our firestop training video production services.

Highlights of IFC Firestop 204

The IFC Firestop 204 course, titled “Firestop Multi-Manufacturer Product Familiarization,” is a four-hour training course that is ICC and AIA accredited (Course ID: 24387), offering 0.4 CEUs and 4 LU/HSW. This training was specifically designed for special inspectors responsible for the inspection of firestopping in accordance with IBC Chapter 17 or NFPA 1. The firestop training videos covered critical topics, including fire-resistive joint systems, expansion joints, perimeter fire containment, penetration firestop, and full-line firestop manufacturers. Experts from Hilti, Inpro, Owens Corning (Thermafiber), and 3M led demonstrations. Enrollees gained valuable insights into proper installation and inspection processes.

Background on the International Firestop Council

The International Firestop Council (IFC) is a nonprofit association dedicated to promoting passive fire protection solutions. With over thirty years of experience, the IFC provides education, resources, and support to manufacturers, installers, and inspectors across North America. The IFC Firestop 204 training was important for the council as it aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of special inspectors, equipping them to uphold fire safety standards in construction.

Our Orlando videographer captured the entire day of firestop training videos, alternating between two rooms. While one room was dedicated to filming the presentations, the next presenter prepared in the other, creating a relaxed environment. We used two cameras—one for close-ups of the products and another for wide shots.

Understanding that presentations can be nerve-wracking, our videographer reassured each presenter that they could start and stop whenever they felt comfortable. Some of the products featured were familiar from exhibitor displays at the CxEnergy Conference and AABC Annual Meetings.

The final deliverables included edited presentations, with photos, PowerPoint slides, and videos to support the training content. After receiving the videos, our client shared their experience:

“A not-for-profit organization that I'm involved with hired Leon [Owner] from Lasting Blueprint Productions to film and produce an extensive video training project. He was a delight to work with—very competent and professional at every step. Despite some unforeseen complications, Leon remained flexible, cool, and calm throughout the process. We will definitely be hiring Lasting Blueprint again for any future video work.”
